At the end of September I was lucky enough to do my first family photo shoot. It was a great experience, and I must thank my friend Maria Evans, her husband Mark, and their adorable little boy, Luke for allowing me to photograph them.

Luke was not especially into the idea at first, but after getting down on the ground to talk to him and letting him look through my camera a little bit, he came around. I'd asked his parents to bring a few of his favorite toys along and tried not to push him too much. Instead, I gave him time to do his thing when he lost interest, sometimes photographing him from afar, and other times working with the parents until he came back around.

In the end, I felt really good, and was incredibly happy when the scans came back from the FIND lab. I continue to be amazed by and indebted to the peeps toiling away out there in Utah. I hope I managed to create a few images that they will love.

I've done a few more sessions since (more coming to the blog soon!), and I'm trying to line up my next batch of subjects now (volunteers welcome...)
